Important information for suppliers and installers of PABX and other terminating equipment: The requirement to obtain and maintain an LMO license is no longer necessary.

ICASA explained in their “Reasons Document in Respect of Type Approval Regulations, 2013 and Labelling Regulations, 2013” that the repeal of the Enactment of Telecommunications Regulations, 1994, removed the legal basis for issuing Line Maintenance Organisation licenses. As a result, ICASA discontinued the practice of issuing these licenses.
