The DCDT presented a revised Annual Performance Plan for the 2020/21 financial year to Parliament on 24 November 2020. This revision was necessary due to the effects of the national lockdown and associated budget adjustments, including a R38 million contribution to the South African Airways business rescue.

National Treasury has released an Estimate of National Expenditure (ENE) for the new Department, outlining the budget and primary strategies for the DCDT and its associated entities (including ICASA, the Film and Publications Board, Telkom, Sentech, and Broadband Infraco) for the next three years.
